Blackthorn trees have historically been used as animal-proof hedging, but are more commonly known for producing bright blue sloe berries for use in gin and jam. They make a wonderful structure hedge, through with field maple, hazel, dog rose and hawthorn making it a great hedge for wildlife with interest all year round. An easy to establish traditional, thick hedge.

Please note: all our trees are 20 – 40cm in height, depending on the time of year they may arrive bare or with browning leaves. This is completely normal and they will perk back up in the warmer weather. Our cell grown saplings can be planted all year round if given the right care and attention.
