A great choice for urban gardens as it is small, colourful and resistant to air pollution with smooth grey-brown bark and hairy double tooth leaves that turn golden in autumn.  They mature into the commonly known hazelnut and if the wildlife doesn’t get them first are a firm favourite for making delicious nutty chocolate spread.
