The almond scented flower and impressive springtime bloom makes the bird cherry tree tempting to a plectrum of wildlife. Once its clustered cream and yellow flowers are pollinated the small reddish-black bitter berries are eaten by birds and small mammals. The berries can be used to make liqueurs or dye wool while its wood is known for making beautiful small wooden objects like boxes and tool handles.
Please note: all our trees are 20 – 40cm in height, depending on the time of year they may arrive bare or with browning leaves. This is completely normal and they will perk back up in the warmer weather. Our cell grown saplings can be planted all year round if given the right care and attention.
